Hatred

I’ve been a Mormon for over 40 years. I served an LDS mission to Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi. I affectionately refer to the area as the buckle of the Bible Belt. I grew up in Texas which is also part of the Bible Belt. At the earliest age I was exposed to anti-mormon literature. On my mission I consumed a steady diet from housewives and ministers. In all that time I never heard that Joseph Smith invented Mormonism to explain away an affair with a maid.

Lawrence O’Donnell has shown his hatred for Mormonism and Mormons on several occasions. His hatred has led him to accept as truth anything negative he reads about Mormons. It is deeply disturbing that the media is so silent on his hate filled commentaries. This isn’t just about O’Donnell’s hatred. It’s about the hatred of the liberal populace. While many do not hate Mormons and Mormonism, they hate conservatism. They hate it so badly that they are willing to turn a blind eye to the rantings of O’Donnell. Would they be as accepting of such talk about Islam?

Raid the Rich

For those liberals that believe in consequences of government spending we are seeing in Greece are unrealistic in the United States, here is an exercise that brings the numbers into perspective.

Stimulous

Democrats only believe money generates jobs when that money is in the hands of the poor. The won’t acknowledge that that same money creates jobs when in the hands of the rich (the owners of the money).

Frustrating

There is hope…

After Ohio voted with the government unions two weeks ago, I thought all hope was lost. Host is still lost but this is good news.

Poll: Voters want court to kill Obama health care law
http://content.usatoday.com/communities/theoval/post/2011/11/poll-voters-want-court-to-kill-obama-health-care-law/1

A new poll shows that most voters want the Supreme Court to overturn President Obama’s health care law, with opposition and support falling largely along party lines.

Overall, voters oppose the law by 48-40%, according to the Quinnipiac University survey. Democrats support the Obama health care effort by 70-19%, while Republicans oppose it by 86-8%.

The Quinnipiac survey found independent voters opposed to the law by 45-38%.

Of course, voters won’t decide the fate of the health care in the Supreme Court — that’s up to the justices themselves, and they are expected to make a ruling by late June.

Whatever the court’s ruling, health care figures to be a major factor in next year’s election; the Republican presidential candidates have vowed to repeal what they call “Obamacare.”

The health care numbers are included in a Quinnpiac Poll that also says “economic sanctions to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons aren’t effective, American voters say 60-33%, and 50% of voters say the U.S. should take military action to stop Iran’s nuclear program if sanctions don’t work.”

Seriously??

“China claims the entire South China Sea and says any dispute should be handled on a bilateral basis only.” China is just being the big bully on the block.

Socialism on a micro level

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan”.. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A…. (substituting grades for dollars – something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that. (Please pass this on)

Remember, there IS a test coming up. The 2012 elections.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you’ll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Hey Bonehead

WASHINGTON – “Frustrated.”

That was the subject line of an e-mail sent to millions of supporters late Wednesday night from President Obama’s re-election campaign. It expressed his frustration with Congress’ unwillingness to deal in bipartisan fashion with the country’s economic problems.

Dude, seriously? Did you think you could ram Obamacare down Republicans throat without ramifications? You are not trusted. At all! Never expect cooperation again. You freaking socialized healthcare in the US with zero bi-partisan support. Wake up McFly. Your second term will be worse. You will not have the senate in 2012. You made your bed and now you get to lie in it.

There are lots of idiots in the US that bought your line on being a different kind of politician. You ended up being more fiercely partisan than any other President in modern times.

Socialized medicine? You spent everything you had to get it. From tax dollars, political capital and your reputation. You got what you wanted. Now you are broke. Don’t expect anything from the Republicans in Congress.

Warren Buffett has lost his mind

This is the stupidest thing I’ve heard in a long time.

He must have lost his mind. The mega rich are infinitely better qualified for making good use of their money than politicians. They create jobs. Government creates welfare recipients. Jobs teach a man to fish. Government gives men a fish. Forget about tax breaks, loopholes, shelters. The rich still pay freaking all the taxes. 50% of Americans pay no federal tax. Shared sacrifice? Check out the top graph. http://hofw.net/blog/?p=21

Buffett calls for more taxes on ‘mega-rich’

August 15th, 2011 @ 9:40am
By Associated Press

(AP) – Billionaire investor Warren Buffett is calling on the so-called “mega-rich” to pay more in taxes.

Buffett said Monday in a New York Times opinion piece that he would immediately raise rates on households with taxable income of more than $1 million, and he would add an additional increase for those making $10 million or more.

He also recommends that the 12 members of Congress charged with devising a deficit-cutting plan leave rates for 99.7 percent of taxpayers unchanged.

“My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress,” Buffett wrote. “It’s time for our government to get serious about shared sacrifice.”

Buffett noted that the mega-rich pay income taxes at a rate of 15 percent on most investment income but practically nothing in payroll taxes. The middle class, meanwhile, typically falls into the 15 percent and 25 percent income tax brackets and is hit with heavy payroll taxes. He said Washington legislators “feel compelled to protect us, much as if we were spotted owls or some other endangered species.”

Buffett said he knows many of the mega-rich well, and most wouldn’t mind paying more in taxes, especially when so many fellow citizens are suffering. He also said he has yet to see anyone shy away from investments because of tax rates on potential gains, even when rates were much higher in the mid-1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

“People invest to make money, and potential taxes have never scared them off,” he said.

Disgusted

I am so disgusted by Washington right now. First with the Democrats who, in the midst of this debt extension debate, argue that the Republicans need to compromise. It was only a year ago that the Democrats ran over Republicans over the health care vote. Now they act like the party of compromise?

The second thing that is really burning me up is the term “public service”. Being in politics or working in government, in ANY form short of the military, should not be called “public service”. If you get a paycheck it isn’t service.

Politicians act like they are in Washington to serve the people. They all know that they have to cut entitlements. We can’t continue to add more and more benefits to the population. They act like they agree but don’t do anything about it. They don’t even try to hid the fact that they operate differently in an election year.

Bad economic news was just released today. Apparently the first quarter numbers are being revised down from 1.9% growth to .4%. Get ready for Obama to blame it on businesses not taking his orders to hire.

Supporters of John Edwards

If you were a supporter of John Edwards, I think you need some serious introspection. Besides the fact that his policies made no sense, I could see that he was a phony a mile away. I’m sure to his supporters his affair and the cover-up are very shocking but that’s because your capabilities to make decisions are severely impaired. For me he never passed the “smell test”.

Edwards supporters….think back on your lives. How many times have you been truly shocked to learn that someone was not who they claimed to be? My guess is that if you are honest you will find that once a month you have a V8 moment. If so, you should not be voting in this country.

For Edwards supporters who still think he is innocent, you need a labodamy.

For Edwards supporters who think he is guilty but would still vote for him…you still have Obama.

As for Mrs. Edwards. Don’t for a minute think she wasn’t every bit as hungry for power as her husband.
